OCTOBER 17-19, 2025 Weaning Experience
Fall is that special time of the year when we “wean” the calves from the cows. It’s one of those times in a ranch production cycle where we measure how we’re doing. We’ve calved, branded and vaccinated, checked the herd health and kept them on good grass, now it’s time to give mom a break by separating the calf from her. Our job will be to gather the pairs on our Ft. Laramie summer pasture and move them to a corral system where we’ll sort the calves from the cows. The calves will be trailered to our headquarters and watched for any problems. We do a “ranch to table beef” program so all our cattle work is done with “low stress cattle handling”. We will cover topics relating to horses on cattle and the things we focus on when weaning calves. Limited to two people per session. Meals, a room in our home, and a place for your horse are included. Please contact Amy to register for these awesome experiences. Amy’s Email.
