Horsemanship
Bridle Bit Horsemanship Clinics are designed to help riders focus on their horse and find ways to better communicate what they want from that horse. Riders will focus on finding their seat, developing better hands, and getting with their horse. We work with the horses to improve balanced movement. They will learn how to focus on specific parts of their body and then build back to the whole in order to move correctly. These clinics will offer exercises on the ground and in the saddle. We meet both the horse and the rider where they are and help them come away with something better. Past participants often comment on the “aha” moments felt during one of these clinics.
Clinics limited to 10 riders.
Clinics may be Horsemanship 1 or Horsemanship 2 depending on horses, riders, and hosts.

Cow working classes are for any rider wishing to start their horse on cattle, or to further advance a horse already working cattle. Riders learn about how to read cattle, position, timing and how to utilize their horsemanship skills to track, sort and cut cattle. The emphasis is on horse and rider teamwork, developing a horse that truly wants to work a cow and on using low-stress livestock handling techniques that pay off on the ranch and in the show ring. While these clinics are appropriate for all skill levels, we have found that attending one of our horsemanship clinics or a private lesson helps in your preparation for this step up in working cattle.

This clinics focus is to help prepare you and your horse with confidence building horsemanship skills and trail obstacles, in the arena and out on the trail. Barn/herd sour, jigging, getting your horse to wait for mounting, dismounting, opening, and shutting gates, water crossings, bridges, bushes (and “monsters” that hide in them!), tarps, slickers, zipper/Velcro, saddle bags, water bottles, hobbling, are a few of the things we can work on.
Make a list, specific to you and your horse, and we will be glad to work on that. We will spend in the arena working on our horsemanship skills before we ride out on the trails. Riders and horses of all levels are encouraged to attend.
